Pecksniff

Sweet smell of success - Leading British fragrance house Pecksniff’s chooses Mitsubishi

One of the UK’s premier independent fragrance and cosmetics companies is using a comprehensive fleet of 11 Mitsubishi forklift and warehouse trucks to service production at its impressive new premises, following a meticulous specification by local dealership Eastern Forklifts.

For decades, the perfumers at Pecksniff’s have created bespoke fragrances in its Brighton boutique, nestled in the heart of the famous Lanes district.

To keep pace with ever-growing product demand, the company recently moved to a new site in Brandon, Suffolk, requiring a host of new materials handling equipment.

Rob Cramsie describes how the truck design actively assists safe, efficient operations: “The Mitsubishi SDS (Sensitive Drive System) automatically smooths start and stop movements, increasing agility and adapting the truck’s performance to the speed of the driver’s foot movements. Alongside that, the intelligent Cornering System senses the angle of a turn, automatically and imperceptibly reducing speed from the very start of the manoeuvre and throughout the entire turn. The result is maximum stability and accurate, positive cornering".

Small wonder that the trucks are proving popular with their operators. “Eastern did a great job in specifying the perfect trucks for the different aspects of our operations,” says Robert Waterfall. They are genuinely designed with the operator in mind, reducing strain and inspiring confidence. That’s important to us as an ethical company dedicated to the wellbeing of our staff as well as our customers.”

Ridgeons

Ridgeons Timber and Builders Merchants first started trading with the sale and distribution of timber & sheet materials back in 1911.

More than a century on as timber suppliers, it remains a fundamental part of the business. Founded in 1911 by Cyril Ridgeon at his home in Cambridge, the company’s mission has stayed the same since - to make it easier for their customers to do business. Something which they clearly achieved, going on to trade from over 40 timber and builders merchants branches in East Anglia, UK.

The operation now includes two new Baumann GX50 sideloaders, complete with the award winning Archimedes outreach system, ensuring fine control for the operator. Hydraulic cylinders traditionally drive a sideloader outreach system (the method by which the forks reach out to the load and return it to the load bed) by applying pressure to opposing rollers that slide along their respective channels, in a pantograph-style mechanical linkage.

Deanta UK

We have worked in the door industry for over 20 years. During this time, we have established ourselves as a forward-thinking, innovative company with a mission to revolutionise the door industry.

With an established reputation for commitment to innovative design, unsurpassed craftsmanship and excellent client service, Deanta is committed to standing out from the crowd.

Our working relationship with Eastern Forklift Trucks is a strong as ever, which is reflected in the letter we recently sent to Paul Brierley, Manging Director.

"Hello Paul,

Hope you are well – just wanted to let you know that I have been very happy with your service and training team recently.

Richard has been very thorough and helpful when he has been out servicing and looking over the combi lifts for us and giving feedback on how we check and maintain our trucks.

Last week I had a combi out of action due to damage on a hydraulic pipe and Steve was able to get Pirtek out to fix and replace pipes within 3hours of me contacting him.

Mark has also been out last week putting me and the guys through combi-lift & counterbalance refreshers. Very happy with his approach and the input he has with the training as well as the thoroughness of the theory and practical training and the balance between the two.

Feedback from the guys doing the refreshers - who have been on many different courses with different trainers - has been the same as well.

Kind Regards

David C-J

Poundfield Products

We run a busy Precast Concrete Factory in the heart of Suffolk and East Anglia.

Our products are heavy and often long and awkward to handle. We use Eastern Forklift Trucks because they have the knowledge and experience to provide real solutions to the often complex handling scenarios we present them with.

In addition their service support and quality of engineers is excellent and much better value than national providers. Our site is very challenging, dusty in summer and wet in winter but Eastern Forklift Trucks keep our downtime to an absolute minimum. I know many other companies in our sector use Eastern Forklift Trucks for similar reasons. If like us, materials handling is an important part of your business then I would recommend you use Eastern Forklift Trucks.

PLASgran - The recycling Specialists

Saving the planet is a full time job at PLASgran's ultra busy and efficient Wimblington Plant.

A fleet of 20 Mitsubishi Grendia keep the products moving through the factory.

"We need our trucks to work, and work hard. The Mitsubishi is super reliable and great on fuel. The operators love them and if you're on a truck for 8 hours it needs to be comfortable, then the Mitsubishi it is!

We don't have many problems but if we do Eastern Forklifts Trucks have two really top engineers within 10 miles so we never have to wait long for a solution."

We operate a highly efficient warehouse handling goods in all shapes and sizes to heights in excess of 9 metres.

We need the best equipment and our fleet of Aisle-Masters and Mitsubishis are the best on the market.

If we have a problem we need it resolving quickly and the service and support we get from Paul and the team at Eastern Forklifts Trucks really is excellent.

Milbank

There a few tougher applications for a forklift truck in East Anglia than Milbank.

Keeping production going are a fleet of Baumann sideloaders and Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks, products built to work hard and handle punishing conditions.

We've known Paul Brierley, Rob Cramsie and Mel Page, our engineer for many years and I don't believe there is another Forklift Tuck company that could support us better.

Arena Group

When Arena Group decided to consolidate their UK operation into a huge new site at St Ives it presented a significant logistical challenge.

It was Arena's Dean Canning who had to make the new project work and he called in several large MHE suppliers for their advice.

"The approach from Eastern Forflift Trucks was very different from the other companies we invited in" explained Mr Canning.

Paul & Rob took time to understand our requirements, some of our products are over 10m long and nobody had suggested handling long products side on until they came in. That advice alone reduced our aisles from 8m to 3m. The space saved meant we had room to bring in our seating division saving us hundreds of thousands.

We now use Combilift C5000's to handle long awkward loads with Mitsubishi FD30's handling the unit loads.

We also needed to save space inside the warehouse. Eastern Forflift Trucks specified the Aislmaster truck which not only works in a 2m aisle but also unloads lorries in the yard.

When others were simply trying to sell us what they had Eastern Forflift Trucks solved our problems and provided the right solutions across the vast site.

They've even supplied a Schmidt road sweeper to keep the place tidy.

"The whole deal was completed on time without any fuss or errors and they really are nice guys to deal with."
