Eastern Forklift Training Ltd has been formed as a separate company to fulfill the demand required for quality operator training. Mark Colman has effectively left Eastern Forklift Trucks to manage and run the training in its entirety.
“This is an exciting time for both companies, Paul and I felt the need to separate the two elements (Trucks and Training) to ensure that we could dedicate our time and efforts in fulfilling all the needs and requirements of our customers”.
Mark Coltman, Managing Director Eastern Forklift Training.
Why we need to train?
Regulation 9 of the Provision and Use of Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998 states that:
"Every employer shall ensure that all persons who use work equipment have received adequate training for purposes of health and safety, including training in the methods which may be adopted when using work equipment, any risks which such use may entail; and precautions to be taken".
PUWER clearly states that all employers that have the use of Forklift Trucks on their site must ensure that those that operate them are correctly trained. PUWER has been written in consultation with the Health and Safety at Work (HASAW) 1974. It is these Acts and Regulations that can lead to prosecution should employers not comply with them.
Why should you use Eastern Forklift Trucks to train your operators?
All Eastern Forklift Training Instructors are trained in accordance with the National Standards and the awarding governing bodies. All our Instructors train to the highest standards and follow the official guidelines, which ensure that the correct training is delivered to all its candidates. Driving forklift trucks is no easy thing and requires specialist training. Our Instructors are trained to deliver such training in our purpose built training area where the candidates will received extensive Theory and Practical tests. Eastern Forklift Trucks instructors are sympathetic to the needs of all types of candidate and can adjust their methods accordingly to ensure that all candidates leave us confident in the knowledge that they can fulfill the role of a Forklift Operator in any environment.
Employers can be rest assured that their operators return to them as confident, knowledgeable and more importantly safer operators. All candidates will leave us with a better understanding of the safety implications of operating in all environments, and how to reduce the risk of truck down time through preventative operator maintenance, racking and product damage.
