Suffolk concrete products company Poundfield has made a substantial investment in a fleet of 10 new forklist trucks.

The Mitsubishi units have been adapted by supplier Eastern Forklift Trucks to meet the range uses to which they will be put, from the delivery of concrete for manufacturing to the loading of finished products.

Paul Sheppard, Poundfield’s production manager, said: “This is a significant investment for us and one very much needed as the company is securing even more orders than anticipated in our ambitious business plan.

“We had Mitsubishis many years ago and decided to go back to them due to their reliability, user friendly controls and robust design. In a business which makes precast concrete in so many shapes and sizes, we knew these machines will be more than up to the job – and so enhancing the quality of our products and customer service.”

He added: “We have worked with Eastern for many years – one of many long-term business relationships that underscores our focus on quality – and we’re delighted to have used them for this project.”.

Rob Cramsie, sales director at Eastern Forklift Trucks, said: “We supplied Poundfield Products with their first ever forklift truck. Working with Poundfield for such a long time since, allowed us to very quickly understand what they were looking for from these particular ones.

“It’s great being associated with such a strongly performing local company and being able to share in their success.”

Matt Moss, commercial director at Poundfield Products, added: “We have built up a strong nationwide reputation for quality products and customer service since the company was founded in 1999. A key component in this success has been our willingness to invest in quality equipment and training for our staff.

“These 10 Mitsubishis are further evidence of our ambitions to consolidate our position as the market-leader in the precast concrete sector.”
